These questions are exactly why we’ve created the Manuscript Evaluation Service.

Whether you’re looking to query traditional publishers, go solo and self publish or even if you’re considering submitting your work to a hybrid publisher like Pete’s Press, we can help!

Our Manuscript Evaluation helps you decide whether your work is ready for publication. One of our professional editors will provide you with a comprehensive review covering:

• Structure, narrative development and pacing
• Plot and consistency
• Characterisation
• Technical issues
• General strengths and weaknesses
• Recommendations and publishing assessment

Please note: this evaluation is NOT a replacement for professional editing!

Eligibility:

Manuscripts should be between 40,000 and 85,000 words in length to be eligible for this service.

Manuscripts should be as near completion as possible.

Any genre considered, including creative/narrative nonfiction.

Unfortunately we cannot evaluate academic research texts, poetry or graphic novels at this time.

Manuscripts should be original and submitted by the author(s) only – we cannot accept work for evaluation submitted by parents/teachers/friends of the author, or any work that has been generated by AI.

Costs

A ‘standard’ manuscript evaluation is $150, payable by etransfer. You will receive your evaluation in three weeks from date of payment.

For novellas and shorter work, books over 85,000 words, or if you need the evaluation expedited, please contact us for special rates.

How to Submit:

Manuscripts must be in .docx format and emailed to petespressYQR@gmail.com

Or printed, and mailed to us. Please Contact us for the mailing address and let us know if you’d like the manuscript returned.

Please tell us your name/pen name, your email address, the genre of the work and a word count and include any specific questions you’d like answering in the evaluation.
