Why ‘Pete’s’? Who is Pete?
Pete was the late, great bookish cat who sadly passed away in 2024. We miss him so much we decided he needed a whole new store in his honour.

What’s in store?
This simple answer to that is “Come in and have a look”! We stock all the titles from Pete’s Press, new books from other local authors and Saskatchewan publishers, a range of bargain books and used books. Our focus is on the LOCAL, but our stock changes frequently so there will always be something new to discover.
Can I order books?
….Yeees, at least, we’re working on it. We are currently operating without the extremely complicated/expensive bookstore inventory software, and so all our ordering is done manually and the speed of it depends a great deal on how often the publishers talk to us directly. This will get easier and faster as we get more established.
Will you stock my book?
YES! If you’re an author, we can take your book on consignment. We pay you 60% of the retail price for every sale, at the end of each month. Please bring us a maximum of six copies, and provide your contact details, the book price and an email address that can accept etransfers.
Please note, we CANNOT order your book from Amazon. We also won’t take any books without an ISBN number, but we do happily take zines as well.
Can I have a book launch at the shop?
YES! We love to host small events. Please email bookshop@petespress.ca to arrange it. More details are on our EVENTS page.

Do you buy Used Books?
No – but we will happily give store credit for any donations of used books.
What sort of Used Books do you carry?
Our stock changes with the whims of the people who donate. Essentially, if it interests you, there’s a good chance it will interest other people, and so we’d welcome it! Rarely is anything too niche….
Are there books you WON’T take?
We’re not too keen on Harlequin romances, James Pattersons….that sort of thing. We can’t do much with old university textbooks either, and we avoid long book series, because it’s virtually impossible to keep the whole series in stock at one time.

Will you publish my book?
Yes! Head over the Pete’s Press publishing site!
Is there really a cat in store?
Not often. Poe the cat would love to visit, but we are too paranoid about him escaping onto the busy 13th Avenue. He may appear for special occasions, however.
